Nepal is crazily amazing!

Instead of posting any of the 1000+ pics I took during my three weeks in Nepal, I made a video journal which captures just a little of the amazing experiendes I had in this poor but culturally-rich country.

Korea with my Korea-zy friends! October 2011

I enjoyed a relaxing, warm and soju-infused week in Korea by exploring the Seoul Tower, stocking up on necessary items at the Osan BX, singing some horrible karoake at the amazing karoake bars, dancing to a Boys Noize concert, exploring the temples and palaces of Seoul and just enjoying spending time with Renatta, Jason, John, Jenn Ru and Rachel.  I also toured the DMZ and peered into the mysterious North Korea.  I could almost smell the oppresion.  However, South Koreans were soo friendly, eager to speak English (and there were English signs everyone), food was yummy and it didnt have nearly the levels of smog that China had.  I really think I could've enjoyed a year in Korea but then again, I am only basing this off less than a week.  And Osan is not Seoul.  Overall, it was a great week and I hope to return to Korea one day!

China: Panda-tastic! October 2011

Two weeks in China went by in a whirlwind of rice, chopsticks and panda fur! We started in Beijing with a trip to the Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Forbidden City and Tianeman Square. Then we were off to Chengdu and up to Y'an to the Bifengxia panda preserve for three wonderful days working with the Giant Pandas! This was absolutely the highlight of my time in China as we were up close and personal with the pandas. To the pandakeepers, we were really just cheap labor but to us, it was a dream come true! We started the first day with our photo op with the pandas and then moved in to two full days of cleaning cages, stocking bamboo piles in their cages, sweeping the outside areas, feeding them panda cakes, carrots and apples and the best part of all... cleaning panda poop!  Ok, it's not really the best part but all in a day's work right?  For our second photo op, I spent a few minutes feeding the 1-2 year olds milk and carrots.  I was just enthralled!!  I didn't want to leave at the end!  I swear, pandas are by far the cutest animals on this planet and working with them in their homeland was an honor.
